First, they walked/danced in while I played the song "My Future's So Bright, I Have to Wear Shades:"
It was a writing assignment - 1 lens had a picture of what they'll be when they grow up, the other lens had a writing describing that job. This idea came from a teammate & since 5/22 was college day, we spent that day making this project.
We sang "First Grade, First Grade" - made available by Maria.
We watched a fun slide show I made in iMovie (a program I hadn't used until last Sat. - but it was VERY simple). I like many, used quite a few Jack Johnson songs {from the Curious George Soundtrack} - my play list included:
- Dr. Jean's - "Welcome Back" from album All Day Long
- Jack Hartman's - "Rockin Hip-Hopin Apple & Bananas"
- Michael Jackson's - "Thriller"
- Jack Johnson's - "The Sharing Song"
- Thurl Ravenscroft's - "You'e a Mean One Mr. Grinch"
- Brand New Heavies Feat. Jamaiski's - Jump N' Move" from Happy Feet Soundtrack
- Jack Johnson's - "Upside Down (Remix)"
- IZ/ Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World"
Next, I passed out Reagan's Candy Awards.
We concluded our 1/2 day with an ice cream social on the playground. It was a great time of recapping our learning, growth, & excitement *maybe a few tears too!*
They are off to new adventures & they're sure ready for 1st Grade - CONGRATS Kindergarten - Class of 2026 Graduates {WOW}!!
Miss Kristan King
That means Carson is class of 2027. That is CRAZY! Good job with making it special without being sappy.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks - I firmly believe you Graduate a few times, after finishing 12th grade is the first though, Kindergarteners don't graduate!
DeleteI'm not big into cheesy/sappy - although I did cry {I do almost every year} I read "Oh the Places You'll Go!" & played a Dr. Jean song.
