My First Linky?

Don't know if I did this right, hope so!!

So...my thinking one needs an explanation!  About a week ago, I rolled my trash out for pick-up in the morning, not paying attention to the large (super-sticky) web attached to it.  I put the trash in when I got home in the early evening, and that's when I noticed the web.  I have taught units on spiders so I know, the stickier the web = NOT GOOD!!  So, I used my flip flop comfy, leather, open-toed sandal to clear out the web.  Then I noticed it...8 black legs...long, skinny legs scampering up my garage wall {hiding behind my garage door sensor}.

My heartbeat accelerated.  What to do?  Who to call?  Ah geesh, I just kept smacking away at the web, but I knew that my flip flop wasn't going to kill that black fiend, MOSTLY because I wasn't going to get close enough & I knew a toss wouldn't do the trick.  So I looked over and noticed my handy-dandy snow shovel.

I grabbed that sucker, scraped the wall, and pounded that black widow to smithereens!  I am still proud of myself - only problem is I get that creepy feeling every time I'm in my garage {especially at night}.  I need to spray the area or something, just to make me feel better.  A teammate of mine researched it, only 5% of black widow bites end in death, all others just make you REALLY sick - thanks Nancy, still getting the creeps entering/exiting my garage though!

Book - have you heard of Fall Is Not Easy?  It's a great book for explaining fall/autumn, especially for places where the trees don't change {AZ, where I'm from & CO, where there aren't a ton of trees in the area that have changing leaves}.
